It’s pretty much the most absurd premise in the world – like some sort of awful SNL joke: Josh Schwartz walks into a rock show and tries to make it into a scripted series. Also, based on what Schwartz is saying about capturing a spirit from his younger years shows just how disconnected he is from the current Los Angeles music scene – particularly focused on venues like the Echo, the Echoplex, Spaceland, etc. It’s a very different scene, and it’s a much more personal one. It’s insulting to anyone who has any sort of stake in said scene to make a show like this. We don’t want it.
