It looks like this thing is really on the fast track, because SONY just announced the extension of De Luca's first look contract there and named this as his next film for the company in the press release.

There will probably be an official announcement in the next week.

You didn't like the script? Holy crap! I'm honestly surprised, because I personally loved it and have changed my mind completely about this project (I was originally hoping he did Torso next).

My only problem with it was the length and all those "deposition" scenes. I think both problems can be rectified by losing most of those scenes and just stick with the story.

I hope Fincher doesn't make the same mistake he made with Benjamin Button and all those scenes in the hospital with the old Cate Blanchett. If he had just stuck with the story of Benjamin Button without the whole diary plot device (which didn't make sense anyway since we never saw him write in a diary) I think the film would have been much better (shorter and it would have flowed better).

Hopefully the Finch has learned from this mistake and will lose most of those deposition scenes.

Otherwise, excellent script. Though you seem to disagree.
