Don\’t think anyone was sweating that kind of return. Ant-man has grossed almost 3 times its production budget so far and hasn\’t even opened yet in China (2nd biggest movie market), Japan or South Korea. Also a profitable movie. More likely that these two guys just didn\’t get along and if Feige threatened to leave, it was just a negotiating tactic to get out from under this guy.
