"Girl alone" got mostly trashed outside the US indie/SxSW crowd and the severely phony/contrived attitude displayed by Amirpour in interviews didn\’t help (yeah I saw snuff flicks at age two I\’m so over it)
Glad to see she\’s selling out so quick, she won\’t be a thing soon.

Ouch. Seems like there are a few frustrated filmmakers on this thread. I\’m very familiar with Amirpour\’s work. Her voice is smart and refreshing. Her work is even better when she settles into less self-consciously weird stuff. I\’m excited to see her future endeavors.

Girl Alone is severely overrated. The only reason it got so much buzz was because it\’s in Farsi. Same with that mediocre \’Circumstance\’ that got early buzz but is all but forgotten today. Watch some Kiarostami or Panahi or Makhmalbaf..real Iranian films not this gimmicky bull.
