I so agree with this review. I kept holding on while watching this film. Ugh, the end was so brutal. I actually burst into tears. And I\’m not the sentimental type.

I totally agree with this review. It was like watching a cute puppy be abused at the end. I thought the lonely character may find some connection at the end.

Moving film and, opposed to what the \’ writer\’ of this \’review\’ suggests, completely without false sentiment. Convincing acting all the way through. The audience was deeply touched, in a warm way. A motion picture many viewers not only will talk about for a long time, but think of as well. You have got to have a heart of stone (hurt, anxiety, xenophobia?) to be able to write a horrible piece like this. I wish you love and a little more wisdom than you projected here.

I could not disagree more with this reaction to \’Still Life\’; but I guess it highlights the subjectivity of art and movies. I was profoundly moved by it, and the elements that bothered the reviewer, really spoke to me and reminded me of the fundamentals of humanity.

That "inescapably precious" comment in the last line of this pathetic review (and I use the word review lightly) applies immeasurably more to Jessica Kiang's writing than it does to this film.
