I honestly think that hiring Snyder to lead the DCU was their biggest mistake. I mean, you don't want a guy who is known by his visual style to do that job. And Nolan too. After his Batman trilogy, WB should pay whatever the fuck he wants to make his movies and push him far from de super hero universe. His Batman movies had absolutly nothing to do with the other DC characters. It was a mistake to keep trying to repeat his realistic super hero style with the Superman movie.

Someone needs to tell DC that they need to fix their trinity before pitching the side characters. Aquaman, Shazam and Flash are all great concepts, but Justice League doesn't work without Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. So Wonder Woman is already cool, Superman is smiling again. They now need to ditch Affleck and do a soft reboot of the universe with Martian Manhunter included. I have nothing against Affleck, but one - they did a miscalculation when they cast him as an aging Batman and two, he clearly wants out. No one wants to see an actor play a role they are only in because they are contractually obligated to play it (see Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique).

You raise an interesting point. At this moment, everyone should be talking about Man of Steel 2. Superman needs a suit upgrade, a decent storyline (there are literally hundreds to pick from the comics), and a director who understands that he is not Batman in a different suit. But it seems, that WB just wants to see what sticks to the wall and ditch the excellent actors they have somehow amassed over the years.

It's interesting to watch, like a carwreck on the highway, everybody slows down as they pass, because you just can't look away.

I'm not a hater, I'm really not. I want the same as everyone else, good movies. What I wouldn't give for a Superman film, with the Superman from the last 6 minutes of JL? God, damn it.

But when we read these articles, and when we notice JL's poor BO numbers, it's just because it's more interesting to discuss failure, than to discuss success. And Marvel, so far, is all a success.

Just looked this, BTW, Kevin Feige is the most successful producer of all time. Crazy, right?

I'm not going to throw Snyder under the bus. In fact, I liked his movies (though I'm not supporting Justice League because of WB's mishandling of it). Suicide Squad's the only DCEU movie I didn't like, but again, it's WB's fault. Wonder Woman aside, they just don't know what they're doing (...like the Trump administration, but I digress). They're randomly pulling projects out the ass without thought or care, and (with the exception of WW) don't trust the filmmakers they've hired. WB chose to get in bed with Snyder, chose to give him free reign on Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, and chose him for Justice League. Whatever the criticisms, they should have stuck with him the whole way through. Let him have his 3 movies then move on without him, if necessary. Course, if they planned ahead and figured out what they wanted the DCEU to be from the very beginning, they probably wouldn't have hired Snyder at all.
