The phrase "re-create a film" is telling. So much of what we\’ve seen so far — dinosaur theme park, dinosaur escapes, attacks kids in vehicle — seems like a blatant rehash of the first film. Even the \’new\’ ideas are just the same beats from the original dressed up in new clothing. Genetically engineered dinosaur = Cloned dinosaurs. Smart dinosaur = clever raptors. Okay, it does have Star Lord on a motorcycle with a raptor posse. But frankly that seems kind of stupid.

What do you mean \’how is that possible\’? This is non-news. They\’ve made this clear right from the start. They\’ve always said the film is set 22 years after the first one. And he explicitly says in the interview that the other two sequels aren\’t being written out of continuity, so the Alien comparison is wrong. Where\’s the news here? You\’re actually suggesting the exact opposite of what he says in the interview. Direct quote: "Of course, Jurassic World isn’t a mere re-creation of Jurassic Park; it’s a direct sequel to the original, set some 20 years after the events of Spielberg’s film. (According to Trevorrow, the previous sequels aren’t being written out of continuity so much as placed to the side, as they both unfolded on a different island.) In that time, a functioning theme park has been constructed on Isla Nubar, overseen by operations manager Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) and employing hundreds of staffers, including velociraptor trainer Owen Grady (Chris Pratt)."
