He\’s definitely grown as a filmmaker since 40 Year Old Virgin and there\’s a number of different directions he could go with his 4th film. I\’m wonder if Funny People\’s lackluster box office performance will keep him from going outside his comfort zone. With a June 1st date, I\’m assuming the studio is looking for a comedy with Hangover-like appeal.

Even though Funny People was very uneven, I did like the more serious direction that it was taking. So I\’m excited for future Apatow-directed films.
