In Nolan’s trilogy, “Batman” is practically just a ‘phase’ that Bruce goes through and primarily a Bruce Wayne story. By the end of Rises he overcomes all his issues and has a happy ending….. this is not Batman at all. As the great Kevin Conroy once said, Batman is the REAL identity, Bruce “died” with his parents. It’s his curse (and blessing?). He’ll never stop being Batman.

I also found a bit disturbing that Bruce would be chillin’ in a cafe happily ever after with Selina, a murderer and burglar. She even wears Martha’s pearls! A thief wearing the jewels his mother wore when she died on a robbery….
