Exaclty. Anyone expecting Catwoman, the Penguin, Mr. Freeze, etc. haven't been paying attention at all. You need to find a plausible villain and the one of th fence, Scarecrow, was already used.

I assume a very stripped down version of Cat Woman could be used (no costume, no gadgets), but god, I hope not.

I like JGG, but I'm worried the Riddler can come off like the Joker 2.0.

The Riddler is one of the few remaining villains that wouldn't be entirely ridiculous in's Nolan's Batman universe. As for JGG…I don't know. He doesn't suck and he's not a jerk? Honestly, I never liked an actor so much as a person yet had so little appreciation for their work.

The Joker, though classically played by Jack Nicholson, wasn't exactly a fearsome or menacing villain in the prevailing Batman literature until Heath Ledger played him as an insane, pseudo-terrorist. The Riddler will be just as dark, and will certainly be appealing.
