I\’ve read the book of Under the Skin – very clever satire but horrific material. It makes you feel sick just reading it. Good luck to him, but I don\’t see how it could be made.

Payne\’s short in Paris Je T\’Aime had nothing to do with Wilde, however Payne did play Wilde in Wes Craven\’s short. (Incidentally, Craven\’s and Payne\’s are by far the best.)

Also I remember reading Todd Field\’s piece in a magazine around the time of Little Children talking about working on a film about John Wilkes Booth\’s brother. He seemed to be all geared up to make that. I\’d love to see anything he does.

Who\’s doing the research on these awards stats? Little Miss Sunshine received 4 Oscar nominations, not 6. Also, In the Bedroom received a nomination for it\’s Screenplay Adaptation, not Original.

Little Miss Sunshine, although fun, was a mild movie at best, not the great like some people consider it to be. I have a feeling the makers of that movie are one hit wonders. You can\’t make one movie and then do nothing. The waiting game only works if you\’ve done a few movies in a row. Cameron Crowe, a guy who has done some good work, really screwed up with his last movie Ellizabethtown. God I hated that movie with a passion. It was so off, so annoying, that I still cringe thinking about the scene where Susan Sarandon tap dances at the memorial service for her husband. Why was everyone in the movie enchanted by her? The whole thing stunk–the premise, the supporting cast, and the two lame leads. God, the whole meet cute scene on the airplane made my blood pressure rise. Kirsten Dunst—an actress I am not in love with–was so over the top and so phony to the point of making the movie one for the books. Why didn’t someone tell her to tone it down with her puke worthy cuteness when she was filming her scenes? Probably the worst movie of the decade. I wonder if it contributed to Cameron Crowe\’s divorce somehow. I think it is time for Cameron Crowe to get back together with John Cusack.
