I don't remember where I read it but was The Ginger Man ever a manuscript tossed by John Grisham?
Johnny Depp can not do a bad movie. Every movie I've seen him in adds a spark of lightness mixed with shyness. He's serous and then he always says something that if said by any other actor would be overlooked yet there is a twinkle in his eye and a Mona Lisa smile that brings laughter to any boring movie.

As much as I love Donleavy and \”The Ginger Man,\” it will never happen. The book is from a different generation–the angry young man generation–which reads, today, as being enormously un-PC.

The Tourist is at $250+mil worldwide, opened at #1 in China, and opens in Japan next week. Depp and Jolie are super popular in Japan and the movie will make at least $20mil there if not more. Johnny knows what works and what doesn\’t, unlike you who won\’t stop calling a film a failure because you don\’t like it. I like Johnny in everyone of his films.

I\’m a long time fan of Donleavy\’s \”The Ginger Man\” and always have my fingers crossed for this project with Depp. But I noticed a few things that aren\’t accurate: \”The Ginger Man\” is set in 1947 – not the 1950s. Jared Harris was talked about to play the character Kenneth O\’Keefe. And it was never made as a television movie; rather the BBC merely taped a performance of the play..

I\’d love to see this one happen!!!

First i like to say how much i love johnny depp. he is truly one of my favorite actors of all time. I feel he should totally do that tim robbins book because that sounds so intresting and it sounds like thats right up johnnys ally if you know what i mean.

I also love Johnny\’s older works, but at the same time I don\’t want him to give up Jack Sparrow. That\’s why JD is my favorite actor out there right now. He can do ANYTHING, and really well. So, back off and let the dude do what ever he wants. He\’s never going to please everybody all of the time.
