Other countries perform well with 3D because, at least here in Germany, itÂ´s rar that you can choose between 2D and 3D. Most theatres show just the 3D version and thats it. So you can only choose to see it in 3D or to not see it at all.

With a $250 million budget Depp didn't "have any expectations" that the film would be a blockbuster? Maybe he should have let the studio know that before they agreed to the inflated budget!

The lone ranger was poorly written, confused and Armie Hammer proved to be bland (to be generous) as a leading actor. It's not critics' fault for that. Depp is a great talent but after a dozen of overacted overblown characters maybe it's time to take a breath.

In this day and age with advanced marketing and dozens of years of blockbuster mentality in the Hollywood system a mainstream blockbuster can only fail for two reasons: If it is badly made or if no one cares about the movie. You can't blame the critics for telling the truth.

2+ hours of Tonto with a dead bird on his head and dried mud on his face? No thanks. Hollywood screwed up a reboot of The Lone Ranger in 1981 [Klinton Spilsbury???] and they've done it again. Oh well, maybe next time.
