The qualities that make the original so compelling - deathly slow pace, glacial mimimalism, characterisation almost entirely inferential - are the kiss of death in commercial American filmaking.  Its hard to see how you could sell a remark without betraying the original aesthetic.  That said, I&#039;m glad Woo isn&#039;t directing - however much he admires Melville, that was a travesty waiting to happen.]]></description>
