Yes, it's mentioned in the article.

I'm not aware of any relationship between Gainsbourg and Deneuve, it's certainly not mentioned in his biography 'A Fist full of Gitanes'. The duet you're trying to recall is 'Dieu Fumeur De Havanes' ('God smokes Havana cigars'). "Sous le soleil exactement" was recorded by Anna Karina (and separately by S.G.).
