I'm a big fan of the John Wayne movie, but I would be totally open to what the Coens could do with the story. The novel paints a grimmer picture of the characters.

J.D. To the White Sea is one of the best books I've read in the past few years. Cormac McCarthy said he would adapt it if he were going to make a film. I'd love to see it as a film.

It sounded like a fantastic take on the material but sadly not commercial enough for a studio to back.
