Why are you only focusing on the first part of that quote and ignoring the second part? Doesn\’t sound like they even attempted to deter him at all. Plus, he was just pitching an idea….not like he had a treatment or script or anything like that to consider. This is s complete non-story. And what basis is there for saying that Marvel is getting more risk averse? The two most recent movies were their riskiest yet.

The first Guardians movie was totally sold on it being Marvel\’s "risky" movie. I think that\’s the adjective everyone used.
