Franco also bought the rights to Stephen Dobyns\’s poetry collection \’Black Dog, Red Dog\’ (which is actually much more intellectually deep than the title would imply alone. Dude reads a lot, but he also takes on projects totally out of his depth.

The book is much like Gummo; episodic, small character studies. Could make a very similar film (even repeats the bunny ear motif.)

Id be really surprised if Korine directed this himself, he's gone on record in interviews saying he doesn't ever re watch his old movies and I'd imagine he's more interested in exploring new ideas than this older work from his early days. Who knows tho. Either way it would be a weird piece to adapt, it really isn't a novel at all, more like a collection of notebook scraps/scenarios and dialogue, really good and interesting, tho it barely has anything to do with a race war like the synopsis says

Have you read the book? The "novel" is plotless and unadaptable… stoked for it nonetheless though.
