Yes, what a financial disaster this is going to be. Just like the movie itself. After all, the wachowski\’s should be compared to Cameron. The both have the same number of – oh wait…

As for disdain of Rhode\’s fashion choices: \”Rohde\’s trademark is a large collection of earrings he wears in his left ear, all of which are souvenirs from decades of travel to remote corners of the world.\”

Maybe they let him get away with it because he\’s really fucking good at what he does. Eg. Expedition Everest.

Personally, I think it\’s going to be a huge, huge bust that will potentially cripple Disney financially. To think that Avitar will be like Harry Potter is wishful thinking. Universal didn\’t build the Harry Potter land until the franchise was well into multiple movies. Avatar has only had one movie so far and we don\’t know if its future movies won\’t nose dive. They\’re gambling the legacy of Walt Disney himself. Personally, I think an entire Avatar land is foolish.

Oh yes, and those rediculous ear rings have got to go. Personally, they make me think that guy is nuts, which makes me think that the share holders should be up in arms about him making those decisions anyway. Come to think of it, I\’m a share holder and my decision about this Avatar land is Hell NO!!! Too bad Roy has passed on. I don\’t think he would have liked this idea either.

Oh, trust me. I write that as someone who just went to Disney World on vacation last March and loved every second.

There\’s just something about this that I don\’t love. Of course a lot of that may have to do with my relative ambivalence towards Avatar and its \”universe.\”

I said this is the last post on the subject but this whole thing seems ridiculously risky. They obviously want their version of the Harry Potter world at Universal (which, admittedly, is pretty spectacular) but Avatar isn\’t Harry Potter. Yet. It very well could be if the sequels really hit home. However, it could also completely fail.

This isn\’t just a ride. This is a whole section of the park.

Can you imagine if, in 2001, someone spent hundreds of millions of dollars to make Matrix world?
