Caught five minutes of Avatar on TV the other night. Reminded me how truly awful that movie is. Even the visuals I'm not particularly fond of. There's much better CG scenery and action done in other movies of 2008-2010. And the story and dialog are atrocious, of course.

I want to see him return to something like Titanic… landmark for its time but there was universal story that everyone could relate to with actors taking priority and not CGI and effects. Sure it wasn't the best script but Cameron utilized the "stars crossed lovers" storyline to its full potential and I can respect that. I don't want sequels… I want (somewhat) original storytelling and fuck a duck- Avatar 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 is NOT what the doctor ordered.

If he can focus on the story instead of taking a step further than I have high hopes.

Though it might be a bit of a bummer to see the highest grossing films of all-time (inflation not taken into account) be AVATAR, AVATAR RETURNS, THE SON OF AVATAR & THE REVENGE OF THE AVATARS
