Please tell me the author of this article knows this has nothing to do with Cameron for the most part? Besides approval of material for release, and editing the film for a \”Director\’s Cut\”, (which studios go to him for when they want to push a release), Cameron has nothing to do with releases of films and merchandise owned by 20th Century FOX (whether he directed and wrote them or not). You want to talk to someone about waste created by merch and DVD related releases, talk to the studios. Hell, if it was up to Cameron, he probably would have put all the extra material on the Blu-ray right away, but he couldn\’t, because the CGI had to be rendered and completed for release, so instead, the studio released the theatrical version to hold people over for about 6 months.
