He ALWAYS gets negative buzz & then – boom – he pulls it outta the fire. He may have waited a bit too long this time. A full 3rd of his expected audience were not even born yet when he last put out something big.

Go outside the US. Europe and East Asia especially are VERY excited about more Avatar.
In the US the first film may be a punching bag but it made $2 billion internationally alone back in 2009 and that audience has stayed pretty strong.
So yeah, a lot of people want to see four more movies, most just don’t leave in the US where snark is the first way of expressing opinion.
