Everything else — especially his criticisms of Skyfall — I agree with 100%. The bad guy wanted to kill M, the bad guy killed M. GREAT JOB JAMES BOND. Totally overrated film.

I just think the whole thing came off wrong and how do you have a minimalist "no fancy gadgets" Q character "what do you want an exploding pen" and THEN go off to a scottish farmhouse with old Albert Finney with a shotgun and NO WEAPONS???? Not even a coupla rifles and a few thousand rounds of ammo.. I mean he could have stopped for a SECOND and dropped some stuff into the trunk of the car!!!! And I agree.. I know the world of movies today is all about horror villains that never die and one twist ending after another… but what GOOD is Bond if he can\’t defend M of all people?? It\’s not going to KILL the movie\’s hipness if he DOES save the damsel in distress at the end!!!

Also… the villains have been the weakest link. Three great actors in Bardem, Almaric, and Mikkelsen… but it\’s like they ALL got Charles Gray\’ed into silly ineffectual villains in the end. They should ALL be forced to watch Dr. No and The Man With the Golden Gun .. Joseph Wiseman and Christopher Lee.. now THOSE guys are Bond villains even in less than stunning scripts!!! My God.. even Herve Villechaize understood the aura that a Bond villain should have!!!
