Felt so much like it was trying to be like Event Horizon only with less atmosphere and setting and shit ton less explaining (like the animate arm or the worms talking to the guy while being inside him). Feels like they should have sat down and read the script out loud and found the weak plot holes and either removed them or explained them better.

Hope this new one is more in line with the first two Cloverfield movies.

He doesn’t (didn’t) write either of them, more or less just gave his ‘OK’ for them to be made. My take is, if it’s not a reality show, I at least might watch it.

Of course characters were EXTREMELY weak (and compared to the amazing characters in 10CL, it’s a joke), but some ideas were interesting, and it was nice to see an explanation for the monster in the first movie. Fortunately, it’s only 90 minutes long, so it’s not that painful. I shall be watching it again someday, during a Clover-thon.
