thank you so much for including that she was a last minute replacement for hathaway in knocked up. ever since the crap talking about knocked up, the movie that helped her become a big name, i\’ve been sure to mention that to people also when she has been brought up in conversation. i\’m not saying she was bad in it, but i was much more happy when i remember hearing at first that hathaway was going to be in it. i knew she was going to get stuck in awful romantic comedy hell after that. but hey, in all honesty who am i to judge, she\’s the one cashing checks for those movies. just doubt she\’ll ever get out of that genre.

I really don\’t get where people say Heigl never comes off as uptight in her interviews. She is always super friendly, funny and relaxed. Perhaps she has said a few things where she would have rather not been so honest publicly – but the vilification she has had for doing so has been way out of proportion to her so called crimes.

To the comment above – Martin Scorcese could direct a Miley movie and it wouldnt be good so I am not sure that is a fair critique of the director trying to break into features. The script for OFTM is by Lix Brixius of Nurse Jackie fame and the books have a huge following (75m copies sold or something) so it might just surprise.

The first paragraph is off. Actors become big, then get the backlash, and if they can weather that storm, they become loved. Heigl is in the middle of the backlash. She hasn\’t handled it too well of late but it\’s not like she can\’t get over it.
I think the main problem with Heigl is that she made her name playing the uptight girl and she comes off as uptight in a lot of interviews and that wears on her likability factor. This isn\’t to say that she should turn into Matthew Mcconaughey but she needs to switch it up a little bit.
