so apparently everyone involved, except the actors, behaved like juveniles. Trank could have taken the sling and arrows of adversity and turned them to his favor but instead acted like a petulant child who was not getting what he wanted.

Thank you Playlist for writing an article that hits on why this became such a mess in the first place. Fox decided to make this movie so that they would not lose the rights to the F4 property. That was the genesis of the project and of the problems. There was no creative spark or vision driving the project from day one, so of course bad decisions and tension will result. Such a shame.

Having someone write the story who gets that the comic relies on a family dynamic (and not an "unconventional" shoehorned dynamic like they shoved into this film) would\’ve been great to start with. This film, as I read more and more on it, is reminding me heavily of just how bad Marvel was in the 90s before it filed for bankruptcy. The comic storylines were ALL over the place and there was no sense of quality in staple books like Iron Man, Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four. The one thing that seems painfully clear is that Fox (whether consciously aware or not) had bigger plans to try and have this reboot ride the coattails of the last few X-Men films and they seemed set to do so blindly.
