I think Jeremy Renner is the best possible choice! He\'s old enough to be believable as a super-spy (unlike some of the people in the mix, like Alex Pettyfer, who is 21). He\'s gritty enough to be believable (unlike 90% of the people in the mix, like Toby MacGuire, Jake G., Alex Pettyfer and Kellan Lutz). And most importantly, he can ACT! One of the reasons that Bourne worked is Matt Damon - he\'s a great actor and he totally became the part. Jeremy Renner would do the same thing.

Also, Jeremy Renner has enough screen presence that if they can convince Matt Damon to return, they could have them both in it. The idea of having some of these other guys share the screen with Matt Damon is laughable.

As far as MI: I don\'t think there is any plan for the MI franchise to get handed off to someone new. Tom Cruise is a major producer of the MI films, and I doubt that he\'d agree to be shuffled away at this point.

I\'m sure I\'ll get shouted down, but Taylor Kitsch is actually an impressive actor and can do action. He\'s been extremely impressive dramatically at times in Friday Night Lights, and while I\'d love for Edgerton to get it, Kitsch seems more likely (already doing a tentpole, American).

I guess they\'re not serious about him as a choice, but they really should be.

There is no truth to this story. Renner is taking over the Mission Impossible franchise and starring in the Avengers. He\'s not stupid. It would be overkill.

Renner is a good fit! Fantastic actor! As for Tony Gilroy\'s interest in Issac I am not surprised.

Gilroy is one of the few open minded directors in terms of offering roles to a minority. In the case of Michael Clayton, he originally offered the role to Denzel Washington but Denzel declined because he didn\'t want to work with a first time director.... I heard Gilroy speak before at length, he\'s not a bullshit kind of guy. He will make sure he gets the best actor that\'s available.
