For Lois, Robin Tunney from TV's "The Mentalist." Her resemblance to Kidder is freaky; the first time I saw her I looked her up to see if she was Kidder's daughter.

The problem with most of the lead suggestions here is that today's hot young rising male stars have an edge -- that's what gets you work today. Superman has no edge. He's pure. One of several HUGE mistakes in Returns was having Supes spy on Lois.

I think Routh gave it a game try, but he lacked Reeve's charm when in the cape -- he actually pulled off Kent better than Supes. Reeve's stage work served him well -- Synder should go see some plays.

Please, please, please, SCOTT ADKINS for Supes! If he can change from an American ninja to the Russian prison fighter Yuri Boyka, he can definately change from Clark to Superman. He definately has the build and the face of Superman. The height is a little short shouldn't be a problem, look at how tall Jackman is as Wolverine. For people who know of him, imagine how great his fights would be in the sky with some badass villain!

I would go with Matthew Bomer unless they decide to go the unknown route then I go with Anderson Davis he may be on the verge, and his acting seemed really good for the lack of exp. In any case I hope Snyder does this Superman justice.

I think a lot of people underestimated Miller's choices for their prospective roles, and as some of these guys works starts showing up more, it looks like he knew what he was doing. People were laughing at Hammer when his name came up then. Now the same people are his pick. Miller had Cotrona as Superman, and the guys a suprisingly decent actor.
I always love how quickly movie fans jump on and off bandwagons…it's like high school.

Ive did my research on the "off the bus" Anderson Davis. He seems perfect for role(looks wise and acting) I checked out his website and acting reel and for someone with little exp. he has some great range as an actor I would go watch him a superman!

Anderson Davis would be a perfect fit for the role of Superman. he's constantly working in the modeling and commercial world! Check out his G.E. comm. he did for the olympics 2008. Major super hero look! He's been studying acting with some great teachers the last couple of years! Warner Brothers it's time to open the door for fresh faces! There's up and coming talent out there they just need to be given a chance! So give Anderson Davis a chance! He's ready! "Warner Brothers" .

After reading your piece (great work) I would say Brandon Routh is the best option. He even somehow has name recognition compared to some of the guys you listed. I'm sure plenty of people don't even remember he was the last Superman.

If it's not Routh, I'd almost hope they go for someone 30-35 years old. Because the potential Lois Lanes on your list get that much better. Routh is 31 today!!

If it's a younger Superman, I'd even like to see Rooney Mara on the list (and every other casting list for that matter).

Totally agree Ryan Reynolds is kicking himself, he literally buried himself by taking Green Lantern, Buried and circling The Flash. This role would probably be his to lose.

And is there anyway to get some links on the side of your page directing to your feature articles? There's no reason for these kinds of great pieces to be buried half way down the page only 24 hours after they're posted. The number of comments you attract with pieces like this shows it. (I thinks so anyway)

I have a feeling Cory Monteith from Glee will at least be called in for a meeting. He's got the right look, and is bigger than these skinny Matthew Goode types. I think he's 26 or 27, and we'll have to see if he can do any acting aside from his naive dim bulb jock schtick on Glee. He's got the teen fanbase (mmm, studio execs love the smell of disposable income in the morning) but he's also not a name.

However, based on this article alone, I'm leaning towards James Wolk.

They will go for someone at least in their early thirties that could pass for mid twenties. I mean the movie is taking place when Clark is deciding if he wants to become Superman. I doubt he's doing that at forty. I would go british for my two leads. Matthew Goode I think would be perfect. Just bulk him up. With 300 you know Snyder can do that. And Eva Green as Lois. I don't think people would care so much if he wasn't American since Superman is actually an Alien.

This is a reboot, and reboots always do the opposite of what the last movie did. Superman Returns cast a young unknown? This one will have an older name actor. That's how these things work. and John Hamm isn't too old. The Richard Donner movie (about Superman's first adventure, remember) put it in people's mind that Superman should be in his twenties, but there's no reason that should be the case. The character in the comics has always seemed around forty, even if he wasn't explicitly stated to be that age. If Hamm does three movies he'll be 45 when he's done. since when is that too old for an action hero? That's about how old Roger Moore was when he STARTED playing James Bond.

I suspect Snyder will cast his regular Stephen McHattie as Perry White, which is actually not a bad choice. He's old, grumpy and smart enough for the part.
