This film should feel like a fresh new take on the material and from what we\’ve seen so far it looks like a stale, generic, videogamey mess that takes itself way too seriously. I couldn\’t care less about Marvel v DC – I just know an overlong, mind numbing, po-faced, bore-fest when I see one, which is why I will not be spending an uncomfortable evening at the movies watching this, looking at my watch and apologizing to Kevin the Gerbil like I did with Man of Steel. Errol the hamster still wants to see it, but he can go on his own.

How many overall fails does Zack Snyder get? Because he\’s used up like 6 now and they keep giving him high-profile work. He\’s obviously NOT a director who can connect with the mainstream, and doesn\’t fully connect with fandom either. Anyone with a brain should have known that before he ever walked into Man of Steel. There\’s something going on in the shadows of Hollywood to keep this guy afloat. If this is the final bomb to get him out of my news feed and film viewing forever then so be it, Batman will happily make a noble sacrifice for the greater good.

Since when we take Bloggers as a reputable source of information, did we forget 3rd grade reading comprehension, the entire thing is based on assumption and questionable source, this is not the first time Drew assumes and said “ a reputable source” check his history on batman films and WB where someone “told him” or “ensure” some bs story like the one where Joseph G lovit was supposed to be the new batman… do you research.. the movie will be amazing and the I believe he made a smart assumption that the studio is having pre game jitters, which is the case with every movie coming out not matter who the director is, I never seen so many people hating on this guy for no apparent reason…
And If you still don’t belive go to Hitfix and search for Gordon levitt already set to play batman

It\’s amazing how only ONE source has claimed this and how many entertainment outlets are running with it. Really speaks to their lack of credibility as opposed to the film\’s. What is the point of keeping a franchise like DC down??? Are people so ridiculously basic that all they want is the same Marvel-esk tone for EVERY single superhero movie? Just because you drink starbucks coffee and like it doesn\’t mean it\’s the best coffee around.. far from it actually.

McWeeny was one of the better reads when he was at AICN. In the last few years, as he\’s tried to be a bit more of a pseudo-journalist, he\’s broken a few bits of news (particularly with regard to WB and DC) that have generated plenty of buzz/hits, but have not panned out in the end. He was the guy who broke the "No Jokes" mandate that recent trailers for both BvS and Suicide Squad seem to have revealed as bunk. Before even Man of Steel was released, McWeeny was claiming that Joseph Gordon Levitt was going to be Batman in a still unannounced Justice League installment.
This is not to say that he has no credibility–and like I said, I think he\’s a pretty good read sometimes–but it puts his exclusives into a questionable context.

It\’s not that he doesn\’t sound credible, it\’s just that without really knowing the sources or specific complaints it\’s hard to know how serious to take the claims. There have got to be a number of WB execs who wanted to scrap Superman/JL in favor of more Batman (their cash cow) immediately after, or even before, MOS was even released. I\’m fairly certain regardless of how BvS does critically or financially, if Batman/Affleck is even decently well-received, another solo Batman movie will be fast-tracked regardless of what that means for the roster/JL/Snyder. On the flip-side, WB pressed on with Snyder\’s vision after MOS, and the movie has been in production for a few YEARS now. I\’d find it extremely hard to believe that they didn\’t have a very good idea of what they were getting and only now are being surprised/scared with the result. For all the snark and preemptive hate the movie has gotten from the beginning, there haven\’t been reports of troubled reports of production clashes like on F4 or anything, in fact, quite the opposite from everyone involved. The fact that all this news is stemming from one report which doesn\’t cite his sources or specifics, dropped on the same day as the most well received trailer, has me at least a little skeptical.

I\’ve seen them all at the junkets… they get to chill at the Four Seasons, be fed, get gift bags, They are all pompous entitled a-holes. Snyder did compromise on "Sucker Punch". Snyder wanted to make a R-rated film, but WB wanted him to make the film in PG-13 (and no more than 2 hours running time), and Snyder eventually compromised.

This deep lore, and its vast emotional and psychological reach is why I prefer the DC universe immensely over the Marvel universe. Marvel\’s ridiculous sorryline crossovers are bad enough in comic book form, but are downright ludicrous on film. Joss Whedon managed to make a decent movie, putting to good use the elements he had to work with. But even he can\’t compete against the tide of meaningless garbage he had to cram into his second attempt. The closest a director has come to something ofsubstance from Marvel may be the turns by the Russo boys. We\’ll see soon enough. On the other hand, it\’s hard not to make something of substance in the DC franchise because the source material is so rich. I, for one, am very excited to see this movie.

People don\’t want trash, they want "The Dark Knight." Snyder seems to still be working off "300." "Sucker punch" was pretty much unwatchable. Some of "Watchmen" worked. The ending of "Man of Steel" seemed to make no sense for Superman\’s character. He would have done everything to move the fight away from civilians. Hope the new film works, but from the trailers it looks like it\’s trying to do too much.
