“Get Low” is a sweet, charming little indie film starring Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Bill Murray and Lucas Black and like we said in our review, “they just don’t make ’em like this anymore.” Yes, we really, really should have released these interviews during the week of release (July 30), but this is a film that is hopefully still expanding and will have a good indie shelf life (it won the per screen average that weekend)
Directed by Aaron Schneider, the mannered folk-tale centers on a 1930s Tennessee hermit (Duvall) who throws his own rollicking funeral party… while he’s still alive. There’s more info at the Sony Pictures Classics site, but unfortunately the expansion roll-out plans haven’t been listed yet. We sat down with the cast (minus Bill Murray) and the filmmakers and thought we’d present these interviews. Update: Expansion plans are here.
