Wow, fantastic interview. James Gray is an extremely talented director and "The Immigrant" is a groundbreaking masterpiece. And I feel totally safe to say this already: If Marion Cotillard won't get her second Oscar in A Leading Role for her gigantic performance in "The Immigrant" at the 2015 ceremony, this will be the biggest injustice in the history of Oscars. Ever. And on any category. Her performance as Ewa Cybulska is so powerful that can overshadow any performance given by an actress of the last five years. It's such a miracle of a performance that no other performance can come close. Objectively speaking, Marion Cotillard is the greatest actress that has ever walked on Earth. And it's literally inconceivable she hasn't won her second Oscar by now. It's even more inceonceivable that she hasn't even nominated for a second Oscar by now. I cannot explain how these things can be possible.

Sorry but this film was underwhelming. Cotillard was great, Phoenix was just believable. It's hard to describe it as a bad film but it's not great either.
