I love Alex Garland and I\'m always excited to hear about what he\'s involved with next. The Beach is still his best work, but Ex Machina is a close second. Also: great interview, as is always the case with him.

Really like Alex previous work, really didn\'t like ex machine. Wanted to like it but really a half baked story with huge plot holes in it. He wanted it to be an important sci-fi movie but ended up being Kubrick-light. Not a serious story at all about AI with the lead (Oscar) doing a very bad, not believable performance or a mad brilliant guy. Too bad.

Great interview. Really interesting insights. I have been a fan of Garland\'s ever since I first picked up the Beach during its initial run on trade paperback. What a talent. His transition to film has been pretty great. I have loved everyone one of his movies and love sunshine despite its ending. If anyone out there is a fan as well, pick up the script Garland\'s script for the aborted Halo project (I think you can find it pretty easily online), really fun read. EX Machina was such a fantastic film and really showcased just how good he can be with a great idea. Alex: I need more, please.
