"Still," makes it seem like he's been here the whole time. If he's back, he definitely left for a long time and even accused them of being unfair (to use a euphemism) with the writing credits of many of the classic Beastie Boys tracks he played on.

I think what's pretty interesting about I'm Here is that it's produced by Absolut Vodka. I think we're going to be seeing a lot more sponsered by types of things in the indepedent world soon. Just look at sundance, this is the first year they've let advertisers into the screenings (Honda i know for sure produced some shorts on technology in films).

jonze is essentially written out/fired in the first section of the episode, so his appearance seems more like a cameo. still, given the insane nature of the show, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for him to reappear.
