despite any opinions of the Pumpkin's new music vs. old and so on, the doc. is actually pretty good. It's very honest and it doesn't pull punches. Also, you get some delectable insight to the questioned ego that is Billy Corgan. I enjoyed it

You know, I hate the feeling of embarrassment forced upon me for liking the Smashing Pumpkins. Of course, I only liked them when they were good...Mellon Collie and back (ok, some of Adore was palatable), but it's like because they are currently ruining their image/reputation/etc. with their new shit, you are looked down upon for listening to or liking the old shit....the good shit! I mean when the Who turned to shit, are they still not the fucking Who? U just ignore what they are doing today and focus on yesterday.

Kinda like Oasis. I just listened to their new CD, and it's completely irrelevant and forgettable. Doesn't mean I won't still spin Def. Maybe or Morning Glory again.

Thing is, no nineties band is currently recording their best material. They are all past their prime or defunct. Even Radiohead sadly :(
