I can\’t believe this is finally getting made. The material is absolutely perfect for Scorsese. I just wish he would have cast either De Niro or DDL as the elder priest.

I don\’t think Shore composed any original music for GANGS OF NEW YORK. Elmer Bernstein wrote a complete score that was rejected, so the filmmakers licensed some existing Howard Shore concert music to use in the finished film.
