Well you say nobody survives but the only one who may make it is the sheriff, probably won\'t but it\'s vague enough you can beleive that especially with the whole *we can wait it out all friendly like* Either way the movies was really good but then just ended with a bloodybath which was really typical and boring. It was fun in his older movies but now it\'s just beating a dead horse so to speak.

This movie had zero surprises. It lacked the one thing that makes Tarantino great: the hero or antihero you can really latch on to. Maybe the point was that Mannix had his first friendship with a black person after being basically a Klansman up until that point, but racism isn\'t based on anything anyway so you can\'t really call that a victory. Warren is a total "johnson" so he\'s no help. The only person in the entire movie with principles of any kind is Ruth, and he checks out early. Re the ending: When it popped back to early in the day, I was hopeful that it would have all turned out to be a huge misunderstanding and that nobody was working with Daisy, or that she somehow was innocent and would end up killing everybody to escape, but whatever mystery there was was solved so early that there was nothing to do. I understand that once you have made a movie with Jews getting revenge on Nazis, and followed it up with slaves getting revenge on slaveowners, you have nowhere to go but down. But COME ON. Give me something.

The original ending is far more gratifying. Everyone dies. Jackson isn\'t some judge jury and executioner who Tarantino ends up praising. He\'s a scumbag like everyone else and just as he gets revenge against the general, Daisy gets revenge against Warren.

I also noted the nobody survives. In fact, not a single human introduced in the film manages to survive. Every last person, whether in the present or in flashbacks, dies (with Mannix and the Major being good as dead).
