I wish Luck had made more money, but hopefully it’s a lesson to Soderbergh who gave an interview to the times where he said “Che” took the idea of prestige movies out of him. I think that’s such a terrible headspace to make movies in. Maybe it’s the naivete of youth but why not make movies asking yourself “Is this compelling?” “Why do I need to make this and why would anyone need to see this?” It’s terrible when people don’t show up to your movies, but every single director has hits and misses, every single one. Go into films with passion and realize that some will hit and some will miss. You when you march off to your grave the hits won’t have made you a better person, and the misses wouldn’t have made you worse.

Such a shame. “Logan Lucky” is such a fun, entertaining show. The marketing did it no favors and America’s feelings about the states in which the story takes place probably doesn’t help either.
