I can understand revolting against the schmoozing of powers that be, but that is entirely different than the promotional tours that allow the audience in on some of the background stories, insight into an actors career and projects etc. You can be courteous to others to help promote a film without selling your soul to the highest bidder.

Sam, I don't know if you quite understand the Daniel Day Lewis reference, in that he remained in character throughout the whole shoot. He was referred to on set as "Mr President" and English people on set had to tone down their accents to not interfere with his own accent. I totally get the reference and that was the key actor who sprung to mind reading this article. Although did Hopkins ever have a part on Blade??! (Read Patton Oswalt article)
