That either sells itself or it doesn't. Plus casting a big star in a role that everybody has preconceived notions of brings its own set of challenges.
And I think people need to come to terms with the fact that internet fandom is a very poor judgement of wide-scale popularity since by its very natures its going to fawn endlessly over what it likes.
