@Buddy, I get that it\’s a huge change for the character but to me they\’ve been changing a lot of the heroes history in these movies. To me it was more of an updating of the character from societies values 70 years ago vs today\’s changed values. Maybe it could have been avoided in the writing of the story, but it\’s not like they\’ve totally betrayed Superman\’s character. Just modernized it. I liked the movie, even if they changed his upbringing to make him more scared of exposing himself. It was more in tune with how society is now vs when the comic was originally created.

I hope Batman vs Superman is really good so we can get more good super hero movies vs more bland middle of the road stories like Age of Ultron felt like.

Ben Urich, The point isn\’t the logistics of battle or whatnot, it\’s that for the first 80 years of his existence he didn\’t kill. It was simply not in his character to do so. So the film blatantly abandoned an important part of his mythos with its ending.

People can criticize the color palette all they want but as far as the climactic battle with Zod, any backlash is unfounded and unwarranted. Zod had decades of military training and experience; Superman had zero. Zod was just as powerful as Superman but had to adapt to his powers at a quicker rate than Superman. If anything, Superman should have killed him sooner. What was he supposed to do? Diplomacy with a sociopath? Lock him up in which facility or jail? The Earth had no such thing capable of doing that. Of course, the battle was catastrophic when it comes to collateral damage. Two titans with such a power scale going toe to toe are going to lay waste to the city. Again, this warrants Superman killing him sooner.

Get over yourselves already.
