“Yes. This film is somewhat of a difficult experience, but i can’t think of a film that resonated deeper and harder with me all year. It lingers and haunts. I adore Lucrecia Martel. All of her films make me loose my head. I think people who wrote it off at Cannes were shortsighted. She’s a world-class filmmaker and for some incredibly, unobvious and super-subtle reasons (you realize afterwards, she doesn’t do establishing shots, she doesn’t do traditional film transitions, she makes films purposefully uneasy by doing away with basic film grammar.”
