Guillermo was such a interesting choice.

David Yates has made some pretty safe safe Potter movies, better than columbus entries but nowhere near Alfonso Cuarón's (best source material) or even Mike Newell's entries.

I'm not an LOTR fan and have many issues with the movies, but I am now a lot less interested.

"he's popular with the studio because he brings in his pictures quickly and without much fuss, thanks to his TV training".

That to me sounds like a negative recruitment strategy for what is one of the biggest films in recent history.

Basically, because he hasn't messed up another popular franchise, doesn't go over budget and hits his deadlines causing no problems, asking no questions and causing no mischief – he may have landed The Hobbit!

Guillermo del Toro, Mr. Yates is not.
