Got a Tip?

Hans Zimmer & Johnny Marr To Perform ‘Inception’ Score With 20 Piece Orchestra

As if the marketing for “Inception” couldn’t get more expansive, Warner Bros. are pulling out all the stops as tomorrow night Hans Zimmer, Johnny Marr and twenty piece orchestra will perform the score to the film at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles following the film’s premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

While the event will be a private party, the concert will be live-streamed here for those of us who can’t get on the other side of the velvet rope. Additionally, on Thursday night, Zimmer will hit Amoeba Records where he will sign records and gladhand with the public. If you are among the first 200 fans to drop $35 on the “‘Inception’ Soundtrack fan pack” you will get a copy of the CD soundtrack, a movie poster, a guaranteed place in line to meet Zimmer at the signing, and a ticket to the midnight screening of the film at the nearby ArcLight Theatre, which is actually a pretty good deal.

While snippets of the score have been heard on the official site for the film, Zimmer previously described his work on the film as “very electronic” with Marr on guitar as well as the requisite orchestral bits. The dream is revealed on July 16th.
