That was pretty much our approach: 'How bad can this be? It'll be stupid fun, right?'

I woulda walked out halfway through (before the twist) if I weren't with friends.

The way I came to that conclusion was to think about what I’d watch on a lazy Sunday with nothing to do if those were the only two movies on TV. I’d probably vote to watch Hancock again mainly because it didn’t infuriate me nearly as much as The Happening.

On a side note, the only reason I went to see The Happening was because Marky Mark is in it. I love Marky Mark. Maybe I’ve revealed too much…whoops.

Oh right. We refused to pay to see The Happening and we didn’t pursue screenings cause we didn’t care. It’s probably just as bad or worse, I’m sure.

We realize this isn’t much of a proper review and we’re not really articulating what’s exactly bad about it aside from it being poorly made, but we can’t waste anymore time here and we’re pretty mad at ourselves for seeing it. All we wanted was a semi-enjoyable popcorn flick like “The Hulk,” for example. But it’s just bad beyond words frankly and this will have to do.

100% agreed except for the “worst movie of the year” distinction. That, my friend, goes to The Happening.
