Did Kennedy know Lord & Miller’s style? She certainly knew Kasdan’s style. So either Lord & Miller said they would play ball and do the script as written or they lied. Or they convinced Kennedy to let them improv a $200M stand alone film. I sincerely doubt Kennedy would’ve agreed to letting them imrpov a Star Wars film.

And I’m sorry, but I completely believe Howard got a standing ovation.

Howard is an Oscar Winning director and one of the greatest guys in Hollywood to work with. One thing a crew hates is indecision by the director. It has a massive trickle down affect on every department, both budgetarily and creatively.

Howard KNOWS what he wants and he will inspire.

This is the 3rd time Kennedy has hired a director or team that they’ve had to fix/fire. Josh Trank was originally hired for a stand alone film but thankfully for everyone, he got exposed as a fraud on FANTASTIC FOUR. Gareth Edwards is a solid filmmaker, but clearly he didn’t deliver a film the studio liked. And now Lord & Miller.

Rian Johnson is a real talent and I expect THE LAST JEDI to be awesome.

Not necessarily. I don’t think he wants to take the blame for turning Han Solo into a caricature. From the sound of things, his concerns may have been quite justified.
