I agree with fafik. I didn’t feel like Slumdog will dominate the awards. It never felt astounding or anything like other movies which won the award.

Could someone please tell me why Slumdog is supposed to be such a great movie? sure – it says more about India than most of the crap comming from bollywood. But other than that it’s still a pretty regular hollywood action/romance feature with a fairy tale twist.

I’m willing to bet Kate Winslet won’t win either Oscar, so more films should be represented come Academy Awards time. BUT, I now think Slumdog is on a path to dominate, so not too many films will have the chance to win.
