After it unexpectedly got good reviews, I paid to see it. It sucked. I laughed more than I initially expected, but there were sooooo many tired old jokes and the cast never gelled (but for that one scene where Wiig explains her motivation — that was great). Not to mention how much it hated men — in the original, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts may have been supporting characters, but they were strong, smart, independent women. Every man in the bad new “Ghostbusters” was either an idiot or an asshole. Good riddance.

The movie was good. Most people made their mind up without even seeing it.

They could still make a sequel. Have a lower budget and get creative with it. The original films didn’t have a ton of cgi and were great.

If anyone from the production is reading I have a ton of ideas 😉

In reply to THX11384EB. the original ghostbusters wouldn't be what it was without bill murray but i think without harold or dan it wouldn't have been anything either. the script for it was not fantastic. dan, harold and bill were a perfect cast.

male nerds were attacked because they were behaving like babies, as was expected, with either no self awareness, or awareness of the way other people were behaving around them, assuming everyone else was being on as good behaviour as they were. when neo nazis harass leslie jones off twitter, there’s a problem, and it’s not from sony.

ghostbusters was not a *fantastic* movie, and the first like, 20 minutes were really. not very good. but it was not a bad movie either, and i would like to see a sequel with a better editor

The film was garbage. No surprise it bombed. The original is beloved because of Bill Murray, not because of the ‘ghost’ concept.

In reply to brian. So, because Sony "attacked" people for not liking the trailer, the whole cast and crew of the movie needs to be penalized? Not to mention everybody who actually liked the movie.

Maybe they shouldn’t have attacked fans when they didn’t like the trailers. I know it turned me off from wanting to see it. Instead of making a movie people wanted to see they tried to guilt people into seeing it then guilt people into saying they liked it. There was all kinds of spin and excuses but at the end of the day Sony got what they deserved
