Every trope imaginable from the previous films trotted out without so much as a new coat of paint.

And the whole thing looks like it has been reimagined as an outerspace slasher pic, with Ridley Scott trying to top the original by forgoing atmosphere and jacking up the ridiculous kills count.

None of this is why the original was great. It looks so lazy. Nothing about it reflects the best of Ridley Scott or the “Alien” franchise.
