How can one compare a tv series to a film? This is a ridiculous argument. I will be watching it and either disliking it or liking it for completely different reasons.

Is anyone surprised by Fraser?! He’s always been inept as an actor. Nice guy and funny in limited range movies like Encino Man, but Boyle should have known to steer clear of him.

In reply to KevinKlawitter. Fair question. Good movies exist because good filmmakers have the capacity to draw well-realized characters and relationships within the short running time of a movie. I just think that Scott wanted to focus on the more procedural aspects of the Getty story in his version of the story, which isn't an inherently bad idea, he just executed it in a not-especially-compelling way.

Here’s a question – how much of “the story being told better” by Danny Boyle is simply a matter of the expanded screentime and scoow afforded him by a miniseries, as compared to Ridley Scott’s 2-hour movie?
