It’s not like Tarantino is known for his ‘cinematic masterpieces’. I mean, I guess it would be nice if he kind of went away from himself for a film or two, but I’m perfectly fine with him the way he is.

That's a very good way of putting it. I wouldn't disagree. I've been basically saying that since the first minute the script leaked. Except i think i used the term movieness rather than campiness -- that sort of heightened affected sense when you know you're watching a movie rather than seeing something so engrossing you could believe it's true.

But in a way I'm glad i know what I'm in store for, so i can just try to enjoy it for what it is. The campy tone of Kill Bill really threw me off and I didn't like it at first. I still don't love it, but i've gotten over my disappointment.

I pictured a totally different delivery when I read Aldo’s lines in the script. Judging solely from this, I’m thinking Tarantino’s campiness is starting to catch up with him.
